Erin Bretts, Licensed Massage Therapist
Erin Bretts, a Licensed Massage Therapist, graduated from the core and Master’s Program at the Soma Institute in 2010 and completed a cadaver lab focusing on but not limited to lower body injuries at UIC in 2011. Her interest in the abilities of the human body began at a young age as she pushed herself to become an elite gymnast. She is compassionate and understanding to the aches and pains caused from sports related injuries. Erin uses her understanding of the body to tailor a therapeutic massage that targets the root of the problem. She does this by using a variety of techniques such as trigger point release, myofascial release, active release, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching.
Erin has been working with clients from professional athletes to weekend warriors; from soccer moms to expectant mothers. She has treated a wide variety of conditions, but commonly upper cervical issues causing numbness and tingling in the arm or arms, low back pain, IT Band contracture, and plantar fasciitis.
Erin’s passion for this work lies in a deep belief that finding the root of dysfunction and alleviating pain increases the wellness of a person’s life. She also believes that finding a well-tailored plan with a team of trusted individuals increases the healing process immensely.
